bad news

Due to restrictions at public and private schools in the Oklahoma City area, we were unable to find a venue in time to hold the Twilight Track Series this summer. With COVID cases declining and vaccination rates increasing, however, we do plan to host social runs, races, and events in the very near future! Stay tuned to be the first to know about anything that develops. In the meantime, we'll continue laying the groundwork to make the 2022 Twilight Track Series can't-miss events.

Unless you're in high school or college, your options for racing are limited to the roads and trails. Many athletes haven't raced on a track in years, and some who didn't find running until adulthood have never had the opportunity to toe the line. The Scissortail Running Twilight Track Series seeks to provide the unique chance to race shorter distances around the track for the everyday runner in the open divisions while showcasing some of the best talent in the region with an elite division.

Our events are for all athletes, whether you're a weekend warrior who wants to test their mettle in the two-lap 800m, a road racer who wants to rip a fast 5K, or a marathoner who's never had the chance to find out your mile PR. The May and June events are perfect for high school athletes who want to extend their outdoor track season and make another attempt at a fast time for recruiting while rubbing shoulders with collegiate and post-collegiate runners.

In addition to entry in their race of choice, registrants will also receive a free event t-shirt for their first race entry. Winners in each open division race will receive a free Running Readiness Assessment from Scissortail Running ($75 value).

The elite division races will follow the open races, and will most likely produce some of the fastest times seen on Oklahoma soil outside of a collegiate track meet. We will have pacers for most elite division distances. Athletes will compete for cash and a variety of other spoils from local businesses, including a 3D Gait Analysis ($300 value).

Registration will open soon and entries will be capped, so check back regularly and follow Scissortail Running on Instagram and Facebook to stay up-to-date!

If you are interested in competing in the elite division and you meet the standards listed below or you would like to help with pacing duties, contact Kyle McKinley at (405) 823-7059 or scissortailrunning@gmail.com.
